At this busy time of year, I thought we could all do with a bit of humour. So I have written this tongue-in-cheek blog which I hopes brings a smile to your face.

I have some exciting news to share with all of you. As an accountant with many years of experience, I have embarked on a new journey that has transformed my perspective. Yes, you heard it right! I no longer identify myself as a mere tax-paying individual; rather, I proudly identify as tax exempt. Of course, this delightful twist in my life has brought about a sense of liberation and joy.
Embracing my new tax-exempt identity has been an enlightening experience. Gone are the days of worrying about filing my personal tax returns or having to pay attention to provisional tax dates. Instead, I can now focus on providing exceptional service to our clients who identify as taxpayers, ensuring their businesses flourish and personal positions thrive.
So, as we bid farewell to this year and welcome the new one with open arms, let us celebrate this unique journey of mine. Together, let's appreciate the freedom and professional growth that embracing a tax-exempt identity can bring. Here's to a joyful and prosperous year ahead and cheers to a tax-exempt future - may it bring us all great success and happiness!
Now… let’s see how open-minded Inland Revenue really is….
Hi Matthew, my name is Mark Soster and I would just like to congratulate you on your wonderful book Property 101. A few weeks ago I had a "financial awakening" and began devouring all the books I could find on the subject, however I keep coming back to yours. After 3 reissues from the library I think it easier now just to buy it. Wonderfully simple yet complex enough to require multiple reads and note taking. It has taken a lot of the fear away with regards to property investment but also tempered me with caution. Without it I would probably have stupidly invested anywhere but Auckland, telling myself it’s too expensive, I now appreciate why would you invest anywhere else? The numbers never lie, in a 20 year plan then Auckland is King for capital gain. As a fan of maths (the only perfect thing on earth?) I can see how each opportunity can be ruthlessly examined on a purely financial level. Anyway, thanks again, I will definitely be contacting your company with regards to coaching and expertise. - Mark Soster - October 2017
