Property investment has long been a tried and tested means of building wealth for retirement.
Even in the current environment (with tax rules targeting property investment, tough borrowing criteria, rising interest rates, and a property market that is cooling in many areas), knowledgeable investors are making money out of property by adapting their strategies to the market conditions.
A softening property market can provide excellent opportunities for investors who understand what to look for - in fact, many very successful investors have significantly built their wealth during market downturns.
In this video, my fellow presenters and I explain how we have steadily built our portfolios over the years, and why property is still a superior option for wealth creation. There are plenty of case studies that illustrate the principles we use.
Note that I run this webinar regularly, with updated market commentary and case studies. New versions will be loaded onto our Tax and Property Videos webpage as they become available. (This page also has other videos on property, tax and related topics that you may find interesting.)

I found Matthew Gilligan’s Property 101 and Tax Structures 101 to be superb books for the following reasons: 1. They contain a wealth of information about property investing and related tax matters; 2. The commentary is very rounded and balanced; 3. They are filled with financially savvy practical tips and red flag warnings; and 4. The relatively informal style, use of short case studies and anecdotes to illustrate points, and the clarity of presentation make the books very reader friendly. The above combine to make two books that are educational, thought provoking and inspiring. I only wish I had access to this information much earlier. - Geoff W - April 2016
